Witness the interruption of baseball's greatest dynasty, with the examination of this 1964 World Series Game 4 full ticket. From 1921-1964 the New York Yankees won the AL pennant every single season. Ok, that's a slight exaggeration. Though it must have felt that way to the rest of the American League, the Yankees actually won 29 pennants during this regal forty-four-year stretch, which saw them earn 20 championships.

The Yankees were ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals two games to one going into Game 4 of the '64 Series. They started this game with a 3-0 lead, which held up until the 6th inning, when Ken Boyer hit a dramatic grand slam off Al Downing to change the Cardinals' fortune. The Redbirds went onto to record a seven-game World Series win.

Following this Fall Classic, the Yankees entered their first prolonged period of finishing out of the money, since they traded for Babe Ruth way back in 1920. They'd have to wait more than a decade for Mr. October and company to arrive before returning to postseason dominance in the late '70s.

PSA has graded this 1964 Game 4 full ticket VG-EX 4. The bright spot for the Yankees in this game came when Mickey Mantle picked up his 36th career RBI in World Series play, on his way to setting a career record of 40 World Series runs batted in.
