A religious observance paved the way to a matchup of Hall of Fame pitchers in Game 2 of the 1965 World Series. This memorable meeting of mound masters is represented in high style, with this 1965 World Series Game 2 ticket stub. The ace hurlers were Sandy Koufax for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Jim Kaat for the Minnesota Twins. Koufax made headlines, when he famously chose to sit out Game 1 of the Series in observance of the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur. While Koufax suffered a 5-1 loss to Kaat and the Twins in this game, he came back strong to win Games 5 and 7, besting Kaat on both occasions, to help clinch the championship for the Dodgers. For his heroics, Koufax was named the World Series MVP. This vibrant, well-preserved ticket stub has earned a favorable grade of EX-MT 6 from PSA.
