Description

The power of precision pitching is represented with this 1963 World Series Game 2 full ticket. A reversal of fortune came about for the Los Angeles Dodgers, following their move west from Brooklyn after the 1957 season. Throughout their long tour of duty in Brooklyn, the Dodgers managed just one World Series championship, beating the Yankees in 1955. Their Brooklyn days saw the Dodgers lose the World Series to the Yankees six times during the period 1941-1956, so the 1955 win was huge. After relocating to LA, they won three championships during their first eight seasons on the West Coast. The 1963 World Series had to be especially satisfying for the Dodgers, as they swept their nemesis, holding the Yankees to an astonishingly small, combined total of four runs in four games, on lights out performances by Sandy Koufax, Johnny Podres and Don Drysdale. Podres picked up the win in this Game 2, holding the Yankees to 1 run, while the Dodgers scored 4, including a homer by ex-Yankee Bill Skowron. This handsome full ticket is graded EX-MT 6 by respected certification service PSA.
