Ticket specialists make a nice find, with the discovery of this 1964 World Series Game 1 full ticket. This game is noteworthy for "Whitey" Ford's final World Series appearance. Though the New York Yankees Hall of Fame ace holds the record for career wins in World Series play with 10, he did not add to his total this day. Pitching through pain, Ford was ambushed at Busch Stadium by an aggressive St. Louis Cardinals lineup, resulting in a record he'd probably rather not have, with 8 career losses in World Series play. The Cardinals saved some pounding for Yankees relievers Al Downing, Rollie Sheldon and Pete Mikkelsen, scoring at least one run off each of them, to earn a 9-5 win. PSA has encapsulated this very attractive ticket with a grade of EX-MT 6.
