Lot # 1221: 1932 Babe Ruth Original News Service Photos Pair

A nattily dressed Babe Ruth looks spiffy as he swings a golf club. This International Newsreel photo is dated February 6, 1932 and was taken in St. Petersburg, Florida. Measuring 6x8 photo with light corner wear.

The second photo depicts Ruth shaking hands by the dugout and the other player has been removed. This 4 ½ x 7 photo was probably 7x9 before it was excised. The area behind Ruth’s head has been neatly masked for publication. This was most likely a stock photo being used for a story about the Babe. It is a news service photo stamped for “The Register and Tribune.” Ruth's handwritten name is filled in as well as the date 7-4-32. Very Good to Excellent condition.
