Legends are seen chatting, in this 1929 Type I news service photograph. Hall of Famers Walter Johnson and Johnny Evers are the subjects of this borderless 7" x 9-1/4" photograph. A newspaper clipping of the exact shot is tightly affixed to the back, covering over editorial notations, and most likely a credit stamp. A "MAR 19 1929" date stamp is noted to the left of the clipping, which is stamp dated "MAR 18 1929" across the "Well It's Like This __" header. The caption at bottom of the clipping reads "Walter Johnson, new manager of the Washington Senators, and Johnny Evers, assistant leader of the Boston Braves, gather for a chat before an exhibition game at St. Petersburg, Fla.", with the printed credit "Pacific and Atlantic Photo" beneath. Despite moderate rippling, and small spots of editorial blackout on either side of the subject's heads, this antique photograph remains appealing in (GD+) condition.
