Description

The New York Yankees had won the first two games of the 1932 World Series, and it seemed like they were on their way to another championship. Somehow a fan, who acquired a program at Yankee Stadium, either traveled to Chicago for Game 3, or listened to it on the radio, as he scored this program, creating a record of one of the most dramatic moments in the history of baseball, Babe Ruth's called shot home run!

Historians and fans have debated for decades whether he actually pointed to centerfield in Wrigley Field and then delivered a deep home run into those stands. In the 1970s, a home movie was discovered appearing to confirm the moment. Ken Burns used it in his monumental documentary, “Baseball.”

The home run was historic for other reasons. It was the Babe's last World Series home run in his last World Series for the Yankees, and his second home run of the game. Incidentally, Lou Gehrig also had two home runs in that game, one coming back-to-back after the “Called Shot”

All this happened in the 5th inning and this Official Program is scored in pen up to inning 5 on the New York and the Chicago pages. The program is in Very Good condition with most of the wear being on the corners (perhaps from a trip to Chicago?). There are two pieces of tape between two of the inside pages.

This World Series program has seen history and tells a story.
