Lot # 1225: 1934 New York Yankees at Cleveland Indians Program (7/18/34) Featuring Lou Gehrig & Babe Ruth

July 18th, 1934, saw an epic battle between the visiting New York Yankees and the home Cleveland Indians, with the Indians outlasting the Yankees, 15-14. Babe Ruth was in the lineup and contributed a one for two before he was replaced. Lou Gehrig batted six times with three hits, including a triple. “The Cleveland Baseball Co. Season of 1934” scorecards consisted of two paper pages surrounding a folding cardboard scorecard. This scorecard (VG-EX) retains some whiteness outside while the inside cardboard scorecard has been scored extensively, so much so that it's difficult to decipher. It comes with a print-out from Baseball Reference with the complete details of the game.
