These two “Dizzy and Daffy” children’s “Pencil Tablets” are 8x10, and a quarter inch thick, full of notebook paper. Each features a different image of the brothers. A unique find, as children would use them up and throw them away.
One shows them shaking hands with the caption reading, “In the 1934 World Series between St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers, Dizzy and Paul Dean each won two games. In the final game, Dizzy shut out the Tigers. Score 11-0. Tablet is in Good condition with paper browning but presents very nicely.
The second tablet shows them having fun with a baseball. The caption says, “Jerome ‘Dizzy’ Dean was named the Most Valuable Player in the National League for 1934 and the same year his brother Paul ‘Daffy’ Dean pitched the first no hit, no run game in the National League in five years.” This tablet is in Good to Very Good condition with a water stain on the bottom right corner of the first few pages of paper.
