Description

Influential manager Ned Hanlon and his magnificent mustache dress up the auction scene, with this 1906 cabinet photograph. Sized at 5” x 7-1/2”, this antique cabinet card sports the same image that was used for Hanlon’s 1906 Fan Craze card. A brilliant tactician who won five NL pennants during the seven year stretch 1894-1900, Hanlon was nearing the end of his days as an MLB manager when this shot was taken. The date “1906” is written in pencil at top-left, and “Hanlon Mgr.” is spelled out in white on the bottom border. Backed with an extra thick board, this ancient photo has withstood the test of time in fine fashion, showing (VG-EX) quality.
