Description

Interesting dated June 1, 1949, Charles "Kid" Nichols (d.1953) handwritten and signed letter on personal letterhead. The 7-1/2 x 10-1/2" (folded in six) piece is part of an exceptional autograph collection offered in this auction, in which legends of the game recount their most thrilling memory. The Class of 1949 Hall of Famer and 362-game winner relates "...every Championship we won 1891-1892, 1893-1897 and 1898, were all big thrills. And now by reaching the very top in Base Ball, by being voted in the Hall of Fame, a thrill I will never forget." A simply breathtaking artifact that was skillfully executed with a black steel-tip fountain pen and survives in high-grade condition. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
