"The Hebrew Hammer" dives into a lifetime of baseball memories with this dated September 27, 1975 Hank Greenberg handwritten and signed letter. Measuring 6x7 with a horizontal fold on personal letterhead, this piece is part of an exceptional autograph collection offered in this auction, in which legends of the game recount their most thrilling memory. The Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer writes "However, returning to baseball after four years in the military service and hitting a home run in my first game which was on July 1, 1945 in front of 55,000 home fans at Briggs Stadium was certainly a memory I shall always cherish." Executed in black ink, the letter presents exceptionally well, and serves as a fine display piece. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
