Interesting dated February 19, 1946, Tris Speaker (d.1958) typewritten and signed letter on personal letterhead. The 7-1/4 x 10-1/4" page with typical fold lines is part of an exceptional autograph collection offered in this auction, in which legends of the game recount their most thrilling memory. The Class of 1937 Hall of Famer directly states "My greatest thrill was in 1920 when the Cleveland Indians were playing the Chicago White Sox as League Park, and we were leading by a score of 3 to 2. In the eighth inning, with the bases filled, Joe Jackson gave a line drive to right centerfield which looked like a sure base hit, but I was started enough to catch the ball just before crashing into a concrete wall of the dugout.
