Description

Of all the members in the Baseball Hall of Fame, only one man can boast that this was a secondary achievement. Cal Hubbard was one of the first 17 men elected to the NFL Hall of Fame in 1963. After his football career ended, Hubbard became a MLB umpire and for 16 seasons was noted as one of the best in the business. Hubbard’s election to the hallowed halls of Cooperstown did not come until 1976. The great umpire signed only a few examples of the offered Yellow Hall of Fame plaque postcard before he passed in 1977. This museum worthy artifact is lightly penned with a blue fiber-tip marker across the top of the postcard. Hubbard is also a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
