Lot # 1027: George Sisler 1949 "Most Thrilling Experience" Handwritten Signed Letter with 1915 Walter Johnson Content

Over several decades, Mr. Oliver Compton of Bridgewater, New Jersey sent letters to multiple Major League players asking them to relate their most thrilling experience in baseball. This is just one of the many offered in this auction. Meticulously collected, the letters average Excellent condition or better.

George Sisler signed handwritten letter on 7 ½ x 10 ½ blank stationery dated 3/24/49. The Hall of Famer writes, “the first game that I pitched and won against Walter Johnson in 1915 when I was just out of college.”

Signed “Very truly yours - George Sisler” (“9-10”) in blue pen.
