Description

Over several decades, Mr. Oliver Compton of Bridgewater, New Jersey sent letters to multiple Major League players asking them to relate their most thrilling experience in baseball. This is just one of the many offered in this auction. Meticulously collected, the letters average Excellent condition or better.

 

Ed Ruelbach signed two-page letter on 8 ¾ x 5 ¾ blank stationery dated Oct. 19/38 (some paper remnants on back). He writes, “most exciting was to pitch a big game against the White Sox in the World Series in 1906” and he goes on to state that a bigger thrill was studying the baseball velocity and spin, speed of batters, and other intricacies of the game.

Signed “With very good wishes - Sincerely Ed Ruelbach” (“9-10”) in blue ballpoint.
