Description

A patriotic souvenir from the 1944 MLB All-Star Game surfaces, with the presentation of this multi-signed program. The front cover of this vintage gameday souvenir sports a rousing design, centered by a proud bald eagle. As the MLB ranks were sorely depleted during WWII, the roster of (23) signers is populated with decent stars, but few all-time greats. Seven of the AL's starting players are accounted for, and many reserves who did not play are counted. All signatures are decent to sharp examples located on the front cover, and the program is solid, showing Ex details.

Highlighting the list of signers are Hall of Famers Joe Cronin (coach), Lou Boudreau, Bobby Doerr, and Rick Ferrell.

The balance are Ken Keltner (X2), Rollie Hemsley, Pete Fox, "Pinky" Higgins (X2), "Dutch" Leonard, Thurman Tucker, Oris Hockett, "Dizzy" Trout, Rudy York, Stan Spence, Bob Muncrief, Orval Grove, Roy Cullenbine, Bob Johnson, John Schulte (batting practice catcher), George McQuinn, and "Tex" Hughson.

Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
