Signed and dated 1937 by artist OK Compton, this drawing is a realistic rendering on a sturdy sheet of manila paper. Mack was enshrined in the Hall of Fame the same year this sketch was created, as a member of the Hall's second year class. Though Mack (d.1956) was seventy-five years old at the time, he would still manage the Philadelphia Athletics for another thirteen seasons. Mack has signed distinctly on the bottom border of this well-preserved artwork.
