Description

Put your hand in the glove of the man widely considered the greatest third baseman of all-time, when you bring home this Mike Schmidt signed, game-used batting glove. Consigned by longtime east coast memorabilia dealer and avid collector Ed Dolan, this Phillies red and white glove was purchased by him directly from Philadelphia sports media personality Howard Eskin. Offered publicly for the first time, this Franklin glove is reported in the accompanying notarized letter of provenance from Dolan as having been gifted by Schmidt to Eskin, who maintained a long-running friendship with the Phillies Hall of Fame slugger. Abundant signs of authentic game use are evident, and a healthy coating of gripping agent residue coats the business side of this glove, which had to have covered Schmidt’s good right hand for at least a few of the 548 career home runs he hit. Schmidt has signed boldly on the backstrap, which miraculously remains bright white, showcasing Schmidt’s potent signature nicely.
