Description

Circa 1975 Dave Winfield Adirondack block-letter model ("194A") bat. Graded GU 10 by PSA/DNA. This is a scarce early career Winfield bat and one that displays outstanding use along its entire length. The bat, which is not cracked, shows numerous ball and stitch marks along the barrel, slight checking (grain separation) from repeated ball contact, black ink transfers, red bat rack streaks, as well as cleat marks. A light coat of pine tar has been applied along the handle. Ideally, Winfield's uniform number ("31") is written in black marker on the top of the barrel (faded) and on the knob. 1975 represented Winfield's second full year with the Padres. Winfield finished his career with 3,110 hits, 465 home runs, and 1,833 RBI. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2001. Length: 35.5 inches. Weight: 34.3 ounces. Full LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (for the bat only). Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA (for the signature only). The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
