The 1942 Boston Red Sox outfield comes into play, with the presentation of this 9" x 14" photograph. A talented, deep squad, the '42 Sox racked up 93 wins, only to finish second, nine games back of the damned Yankees. Still this potent outfield was a force to be reckoned with, playing a big part in their team's .612 winning percentage. Pictured from left-to-right, are 1942 Triple Crown winner Ted Williams, 1942 All-Star Dom DiMaggio, and Lou Finney. The names of the subjects are written in pencil on the top border, above their corresponding images, and the WWII MLB Health patches are seen on the left sleeves of their jerseys. Creases and minor surface loss at the corners call for a FR grade for this vintage WWII era photograph, though display appeal is ample.
