Description

One of the greatest teams in baseball history put the crowning touch on a truly memorable season the day this 1927 World Series Game 4 ticket stub was issued. Played at Yankee Stadium on October 8, 1927, this game saw the Yankees complete a sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates, to earn the second of their record 27 World Series championships. Legendary slugger Babe Ruth hit the 10th World Series home run of his career in this game, which ended with Earle Combs scoring on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning. This is the only time a World Series ended on a wild pitch, and it’s ironic that a lineup known as “Murderer’s Row” won in such fashion. PSA had graded this high profile stub FR 1.5.
