Ticket stub issued for Game 1 of the 1917 World Series between the Chicago White Sox and New York Giants, held at Comiskey Park in Chicago on October 6, 1917. This is a very rare example, with PSA authenticating only three examples from this game to date (all grade Authentic). The White Sox defeated the New York Giants four games to two in the 1917 World Series, with Red Faber accounting for three of the wins. Eddie Collins, Joe Jackson (in his first World Series game), and Buck Weaver were among the hitting stars during the series, with each posting averages over .300. The ticket (3-1/8 x 1-3/8 inches) is in modest condition overall, displaying moderate creasing and wear to the corners. It was, at one time, mounted within an album, and it remains affixed to the backing. Despite these condition issues, it remains a scarce memento of this historic event.
