Description

From one of the greatest seasons in baseball history comes this partial scorecard signed by arguably the greatest player of all time. The immortal Babe Ruth was at his peak when he boldly signed this July 18, 1927 St. Louis Browns game day souvenir. The "Sultan of Swat" broke his own single season home run record in 1927, blasting a total of 60 four-baggers. Renowned for their fearsome "Murderers' Row" lineup and a rock solid pitching staff, the '27 Yankees racked up an incredible record of 110-44-1 during the regular season, and then steamrolled the Pittsburgh Pirates in a World Series sweep. Ruth has signed over the cream background at top-left of this front cover only scorecard section, and PSA/DNA has seen fit to rate his treasured signature NM-MT 8. Ruth went 1 for 4 with a walk on the day, and teammate Lou Gehrig hit a 3-run homer in the top of the 8th inning. For the opposition, George Sisler belted a grand slam in the bottom of the 9th. It was too little, too late, however, as the Yankees prevailed by a score of 10-6.
