The New York Yankees celebrated their 20th World Series Championship in 1962 by defeating the San Francisco Giants in a memorable and dramatic seventh game. The Giants had the winning runs on base with two out in the 9th inning when their slugger, Willie McCovey, slammed a hard line-drive that would have gone to the outfield wall and won the game for the Giants, but Yankee second baseman Bobby Richardson managed to snag the ball, ending the game.
