Lot # 1323: 1962 Philadelphia Phillies Black Face Bobble Head Doll with Box - Exceptional Condition

Level up your figure collection with the addition of this rare 1962 Philadelphia Phillies black face bobble head doll. As with the other team examples, the Phillies figure from the 1963-1965 black face baseball bobble head series can be found with a happy expression or a serious expression. Here we have a happy version example, with vibrant colors and a bright white uniform. The raised red lettering on the jersey shows no wear. The colors are strong, and the glaze gloss is generally excellent, though the finish on the cap is uneven. The decal on the front of the base is bold and full, and remarkably, the head opening shows minimal wear. Factory quality control missed a beat with the off-center placement of the hat decal. Otherwise, this rare piece reports in exceptional NM+ condition. The factory stamp on the underside is partial, but there's plenty of detail to identify it as "Japan Pat. No. 218614 S.S. Corp. © 1962 Made In Japan."
