Description

Score a hefty piece of baseball lumber, with this 1965-1969 "Boog" Powell game-used bat. This Louisville Slugger O16 signature model bat is 36" long, and weighs in at a considerable 37.9 ounces. Big, friendly Boog launched 123 homers during the defined labeling period, and it's likely some of those blasts came off this beefy stick. His club, the Baltimore Orioles, were enjoying a golden era at this time, with a World Series championship in 1966 and a return trip to the Fall Classic in 1969 to face the "Miracle Mets." There's also a possibility this bat went along for the postseason ride, which encompassed the first ever ALCS round in '69. Signs of authentic use are abundant, with numerous contact marks on the barrel, tape residue on the handle, and considerable grain separation on the back barrel, where a half-dozen small nails have been employed to keep the affected area intact. The model number is impressed into the knob, and the weight is written above the model number. PSA/DNA has assigned this game-used relic a grade of GU 8.
