What the 1965 Los Angeles Dodgers lacked in power at the plate, they made up for with overpowering pitching. Revisit this champion Dodgers squad, with this selection of (5) 1965 World Series souvenirs. No Dodger hit more than 12 home runs during the 1965 season, and their only player with more than 15 at-bats to hit .300, was ace pitcher Don Drysdale, who chipped in with 7 dingers. Joining Drysdale at the top of the rotation was Sandy Koufax, who won the pitching Triple Crown that year. Though the lineup was not spectacular, it was solid enough to get the job done, despite losing the team's best hitter Tommy Davis to injury early in the season.
Featured are:
1965 World Series Game 4 ticket stub (FR);
1965 World Series program (VG);
1960s White square base bobblehead (VG) has several hairline cracks radiating up from the head opening. The paint remains fairly strong, including the raised jersey lettering, and the decals on the cap and base are full. The underside is stamped "Patent Pending Japan", and the wear around the head opening is moderate.
1965 LA. Dodgers VS. Minnesota Twins full-size pennant is attractive, despite moth holes on the red accent strip on the wide end, and a slightly blunted point. Otherwise this piece shows EX-MT details, with bold, full lettering and graphics.
1965 TWA Salutes World Series full-size pennant rates as (VG-EX), with fairly strong graphics and lettering, a single moth hole on the white accent strip on the wide end, and a moderately blunted point.
The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
