New York Yankees great Roger Maris was at the peak of his fame, when this 1961-1963 real face, white base Maris bobble head doll was issued. Winner of back-to-back AL MVP awards, Maris was also an All-Star and World Series champion in 1961 and 1962. For good measure, he broke Babe Ruth's sacred single season home run record in 1961. Teamed with legend Mickey Mantle, the "M&M Boys" were everywhere, including movies, magazines, and tons of endorsements. Mantle and Maris were also both chosen as two of the four real face players released as part of the white base series. These real face figures stand proudly among the most sought after and valuable of any bobble head series. Several cracks on the back of the head coming up from the neck limit the grade of the offered piece to (VG+), while the front presents magnificently, with strong colors, gloss, and facsimile signature base decal, making it a pleasing souvenir of Maris' peak years.
