Description

During the early years of the latest Baltimore Orioles franchise, Al Vincent served as hitting coach for five seasons. The Alabama native taught the "tools of the trade" to players such as Brooks Robinson and Gus Triandos. This 1957-1958 Baltimore Orioles Al Vincent home jersey #30 has survived the decades in fine condition. As you would expect of a jersey worn by a coach, this gray flannel gamer with a zippered front retains great integrity with only mild staining and general wear. A tag sewn inside the collar reads "30 57", for season and uniform number. There's also a size "42" tag on the left-front tail, where a Wilson factory label, and a cleaning instructions tag also reside. The front "Orioles" and the front/back number patches also remain vibrant. The important "Laughing Bird" left sleeve patch steals the show! The LOA states "In this case the patch, which frequently is either missing or threadbare on the bulk of vintage Baltimore shirts, is original and and in pretty decent shape. It has a small tear to the bill of the bird's cap, but displays nicely." Phil Wood LOA.
