Here's a white elephant sale you don't want to miss. On parade, is a set of (4) circa 1990s Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society hand=painted elephants. As noted on the underside of the feet, these ceramic statues were hand painted by Marie Hahn of Marie Ceramics in Hatboro, Pa., the same Philadelphia suburban town where the A's museum was located. Styled with a curled up trunk holding a baseball, the largest of these four figures measures 15" trunk to tail, while reaching 11" at the high point. The three smaller elephants all have upraised trunks reaching 12-1/2", 8" and 5" at the high points. Each has a hand-painted "A's Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society Est. 1996" blanket draped over the back. Painted on the bottom of one foot of each elephant, is "Handpainted for the A's, MH". The three smaller elephants are numbered on another foot with "Limited #44 of 300". All of these realistically rendered statues present handsomely, though the right side tusk of the 5" piece is broken off and absent.
Local pickup at our Silver Spring, MD office is strongly encouraged.
