Description

A heartfelt tribute to Baltimore Orioles slugger Ken Singleton is showcased, with this presentation of this custom painted original Memorial Stadium seat. Though he played two seasons with the New York Mets and another three with the Montreal Expos, Singleton shouldered the bulk of his MLB workload with the Baltimore Orioles. While with the O's from 1975, through the end of career in 1984, Singleton blasted 182 homers, earning three All-Star Game berths and a 1983 World Series ring in the process. Fitted with sturdy iron feet to enable freestanding display, this vintage seat has been elegantly hand painted on the ladderback slats with "29, Memorial Stadium, 33rd Street" on the top slat, "C'mon Ken hit it in the bullpen!!" on the middle slat, and "Baltimore Orioles 1975 to 1984" on the bottom slat. Additionally, baseballs have been painted at both ends of all three upright slats, and also at the four corners of the fold-up seat section. Singleton has signed boldly at center on the middle of five seat section slats. The overall presentation is magnificent, making this handsome, customized seat a prime candidate for prominent display.

Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Accompanied by Ken Singleton Letter of Provenance.
