Make a connection with a genuine legend, when you claim this 1969-1972 Roberto Clemente game-used bat. A fluid generational star, Clemente more than held his own while competing with National League contemporaries Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, Dick Allen and Stan Musial. A Louisville Slugger G105 model, the offered bat was used by Clemente during the final years of his illustrious career, and it's entirely possible this nicely preserved bat was in his hands during his final campaign.
Had he not died heroically in a 1972 plane crash on a relief mission to Nicaragua, Clemente's career total of 3.000 hits would have grown even higher. It certainly seemed like the Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Fame outfielder still had plenty in the tank, as he batted .300+ in all four seasons of the referenced labeling period.
Weighing in at a considerable 38.3 ounces, this formidable gamer bears multiple contact marks on the barrel, along with baseball stitch impressions and the occasional cleat impression. The model number is impressed into the handle, the barrel labeling remains distinct, and overall, this prized bat presents impressively. Truly a golden opportunity for advanced collectors, this one is worthy of going the distance.
