In his detailed Letter of Authenticity, Phil Wood concludes, “I have no doubts regarding the authenticity of this 1972 Astros Dave Roberts Road jersey. Roberts was a valuable part of their rotation that year, winning 12 games. The quintessential journey man lefty, Roberts played for the Astros, Tigers, Cubs, Pirates, Mariners, Giants and Mets. He was described as a “consummate pro” by a long-time baseball executive, “He'll really be remembered and missed for the leadership he provided and for being such a good guy.” This 1972 Houston Astros Road jersey #15, size 40 by Spalding Sporting Goods, shows very light wear.
