Description

A prominent member of the 500 Home Run Club bashes his way onto the scene, with this Reggie Jackson game-used bat. Employed by Jackson during the 1984 season when he was playing for the California Angels, this Rawlings Adirondack Big Stick Professional Model bat shows outstanding signs of game use. Multiple contact marks, stitch impressions, cleat marks, and ink transfers are noted on the barrel, which is absent an 8” x 2” section from the surface on the back. The upper handle is wrapped with a 5” swath of tape, and the model number 288RJ is impressed into the knob. Though he was nearing the end of his career as one of the game’s premier sluggers, “Mr. October” was still driving balls out of the park on a frequent basis. In 525 at-bats during the 1984 season, Jackson hit 25 homers. It’s a good bet some of the damage Jackson inflicted on opposing pitchers came with this bat in his mighty hands.
