Description

“I can beat any man in the house,” bragged barroom brawler, John L. Sullivan, the first heavyweight boxing champion from 1882 to 1892. He became the country's first sports superstar. An almost mythical figure, songs were written about him.  Sheet music was the way music was sold in his time. There was always someone who could play the piano, so people sang about him in their living rooms. This 14x10 ½ sheet music entitled “Sullivan's March” with music by Bowen, arranged by Dinsmore, “To the champion, John L. Sullivan.”

Good condition, wear around the edges but Sullivan's image is untouched.
