This "arms crossed" photograph is sized at 4-1/4" x 6-3/8", and dates from the tail end of the heavyweight champion's renowned career as a prizefighter. The caption at bottom reads "John L. Sullivan, Champion of the World". Sullivan's iconic handlebar mustache shows off prominently in this late-19th Century photograph, leaving no doubt as to the subject's identity.
