Although the 1933 Pittsburgh Pirates came up just short of the New York Giants in representing the National League in the World Series, the 87-67 record was a decade's best for the historic franchise. A dozen members of the squad have etched the offered Official League (Wagner-Taylor) team-signed baseball. The moderately soiled sphere with scattered abrasions throughout is lightly etched with a blue steel-tip fountain pen. Despite the faint quality of multiple signatures, the legendary script of "The Flying Dutchman" is quite legible. Includes: Sweet Spot: Wagner; West Panel: Hartley; East Panel: Hoyt, Padden; North Panel: H. Smith, B. Harris, Swetonic, Gibson (manager); South Panel: Jensen, L. Waner, P. Waner and Piet. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
