Lot # 921: Walter Johnson Signed Tober Eastern League Baseball - Full JSA LOA

One of baseball’s most prominent Hall of Famers comes up for consideration, with the offering of this Walter Johnson signed baseball. Made by Tober of Hartford, CT., this antique baseball is a No. 48 Eastern League model, with a proud Eagle logo. Johnson (HOF, d.1946) has signed on the sweet spot, and though somewhat faded, his prized signature is clearly recognizable. The baseball is nicely preserved, with factory labeling stamps that show a good degree of integrity.

Seen on the north panel is a William P. Duff signature. The only reference we discovered related to a baseball player named William Duff, is a listing for the 1903 Mobile team of the Interstate League, but no positive connection has been established.
