Lot # 756: 1936 Joe DiMaggio Debut Signed Newspaper with Full JSA LOA

“Making a belated start with the New York Yankees because of a burned foot, Joe DiMaggio, former Coast League star, began his Major League career in sensational fashion by connecting with a triple and two singles against the Saint Louis Browns at the Yankee Stadium.”

That is the caption under the photo in the May 5th, 1936, edition of the San Jose Mercury Herald. Joe DiMaggio has signed the photo in fiber tip marker, a bold (“8-9”) application. The sports section also features movie advertisements with Shirley Temple and Bette Davis. The signed photo area is in very nice shape. Overall VG-EX condition.
