Lot # 918: Tough Rabbit Maranville Cut Signature

A tough autograph is on offer, with this "Rabbit" Maranville cut signature. A strong defender with respectable batting skills, Maranville is also remembered as one of baseball's great clowns. His antics on and off the field kept teammates on their toes, and his determined play earned him a plaque in the Hall of Fame, six months after he died in January 1954. His long-ago departure makes obtaining his autograph a challenging task, and "Rabbit" season is open here with the offering of this pleasing example. Maranville's coveted signature is neatly applied at center of a 4" x 2-1/2" section of sturdy card stock.
