The first Avenger saves the day, with this 1/46 Timely Comics Captain America Comics #52 issue. Actually, Captain America and his loyal sidekick Bucky Barnes save a whole lot of days, as they battle it out to foil an atomic bomb heist. Published shortly after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, this issue is fronted with a harrowing cover by legendary artist Alex Schomburg, as an early presentation of a theme that remains prevalent in spy thrillers to this day. A nicely preserved example, this historic Golden Age comic has scored a favorable grade of 5.0, Cream to Off-White Pages from CGC. Appearing in backup story in this "must-have" Atom Bomb issue, are the Human Torch and Cat-Man. Label notes are "Bill Finger story, Alex Schomburg cover, Vince Alascia, Al Bellman and Al Gabriele art. Human Torch vs. Cat-Man story.".
