Description

The first golf superstar, Bobby Jones’ name was almost as big as Babe Ruth in the 1920s. Besides having the picture-perfect swing that set the standard everyone emulated, he literally wrote the book on how to play golf. He was also known for his charm and graciousness, reflected in the popular song about him, “The Sentimental Gentleman from Georgia.”

This circa 1930 Underwood & Underwood photograph has a “Please return” notice attached to the back with the address of the photography firm. The 6 ½ x 8 ½ photo is in Very Good to Excellent condition.
