Description

"Philly Phanatics" go all in for this 1960s-1980s George Brace Philadelphia Phillies photograph collection (160). One of baseball's most prolific visual chroniclers, Brace captured thousands of players as they manned the hallowed ground at Wrigley Field, where these 3-1/2" x 5" photographs were taken. Several generations of Fightin' Phils figure in the mix, from the 1964 "Phold" era, to the cellar dwellers during the earliest years of divisional play, to the 1980 squad that won the first World Series championship in Phillies history. Condition is generally pleasing with only a small percentage showing significant wear, and just a handful of duplicates are noted.

Some of the many hometown heroes seen in this expansive collection are Johnny Callison, Tony Taylor, "Cookie" Rojas, Clay Dalrymple, Tony Gonzalez, Dick Groat, Al Dark, Roy Sievers, Frank Torre, Harry Anderson, Gran Hamner, Larry Bowa, Dave Cash, Jay Johnstone, Bob Boone, Garry Maddox, "Bake" McBride, Manny Trillo, Bill White, John Vukovich, Don Money, Don Hoak, "Pancho" Herrera, Davey Johnson, Gary Matthews, Dick Bartell, Denny Doyle, Oscar Gamble, Bobby Wine, Richie Hebner, Larry Hisle, Del Unser, Bill Robinson, and Wes Covington.
