Gazing at this classic George Burke photograph, one could almost believe Leo Durocher was a serene being. Don't you believe it. Known far and wide as "Leo the Lip", Durocher was a firebrand, always ready to give umpires, the press, and baseball higher-ups a strong piece of his mind, and some choice words from his colorful vocabulary. He was also a great baseball man, that knew what winning was about. Formatted with rounded corners, this 8" x 10" matte print pictures Durocher in a Brooklyn Dodgers uniform. Durocher signed with the Dodgers in 1938, and served as a player and manager from 1938-1948, dating this photograph to the defined period. Stamped on the back are a George Burke photographer's credit, and the identifiers "208, Durocher, Leo, N2". Condition is pleasing, with a clean surface, and moderate wear on the perimeter.
