An historic treasure takes the stage, with this 12/40 Novelty Press Blue Bolt #7 issue. With the year 1938 considered the starting point for the Golden Age of Comics, Blue Bolt is one of the earlier costumed hero titles to hit the newsstands. History makers Joe Simon and Jack Kirby played a big part in popularizing the super-hero genre, and this issue dates from the first year of their celebrated collaboration. A dynamic cover from these legendary creators, prompted period readers to include this classic Golden Age comic among their purchases. Eighty-five years later, available examples are in very short supply, as the majority of original owners didn't think to keep them. CGC has favorably approved of this handsome example, providing a grade of 5.0, Slightly Brittle Pages. A check of CGC's Population Report reveals thirteen examples of this pre-war comic have been graded in Universal Grade holders to date. The offered comic stands as "1 of 1" at the 5.0 level, with four rated higher. Label notes are "Joe Simon, Jack Kirby, Malcolm Kildale, Bob Davis, Jack A. Warren and Paul Gustavson stories and art. Joe Simon and Jack Kirby cover.".
