From the height of Jackie Robinson’s stellar MLB career comes this very attractive 1950 doll of Robinson in a Brooklyn Dodgers uniform. Made by the Allied-Grand Doll Manufacturing Company of Brooklyn, N.Y., this 13” composition doll is as fine an example as you’re likely to find. Sure, there may be other examples that are equally attractive. However, they are typically missing an item or two. This swell fellow comes with a complete outfit, including the cap, jacket, jersey, pants, belt, socks, shoes, and even the shoelaces. Also accompanying are a bat with a Robinson facsimile signature decal and a die cut baseball glove hang tag. The tag is a modern replica, and the lettering on the jacket, jersey and cap appear to be replacements. All other elements are original. Wear on the doll is minimal, with the surface showing great overall integrity. The cap and jacket are faded, while the other garments are nicely preserved. The bat signature is strong, with just two tiny breaks, and the tag is crisp and clean.
