Description

Though they started out as the Washington Nationals, they were more commonly referred to as the Senators through the years, and by 1956 they were officially the Senators. The earliest pennant in this group is a “Nationals” pennant from the early 50s with the Capitol building bursting through a baseball. This group of (10) pennants include (8) full-size pennants and (2) smaller size without tassels. The overall condition is very nice, averaging VG-EX to Excellent. Most all have the usual three pinholes. Three of the pennants feature a pitcher pitching in front of the Capitol, three more also feature the Capitol building, and two show the Senator pitching in his broadcloth coat, smoking a cigar. One of the smaller pennants features the senator, and the other features a play at the plate.

Before the day when a fan displayed his loyalty with expensive team merchandise, waving a simple pennant was the classic way for a fan to support his team. The pennants in this group come from the estate of Mike Cubbage.

The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
