Tremendous display appeal seems a bit too light to describe the captivating presence of this 1940s-1952 Boston Braves point-of-sale sign. Sized at 34" x 24", this die cut wooden wall hanger is styled as a regal Native American Chief in full headdress. This mascot logo type was frequently employed to adorn period team related pennants, patches and other souvenirs, and the red, white and blue color scheme is all Boston Braves. The headdress section shows considerable crazing, supporting the authentic vintage nature of this visual delight. There are approximately a dozen drilled mounting holes, that have minimal effect of the arresting appearance of this mid-century marvel. Wear on the face area is relatively modest, and the colors remain bold across the entire piece. A hanging wire has been affixed to reverse side, so this stimulating 1/2"-thick sign is ready for immediate display.
The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
