Sized at 14" x 21", this vintage promoter is firmly adhered to a metal backer sign, with holes punched at the upper corners and bottom center. Touting "Baseball To-Day", this mid-20th Century relic is a weathered warrior that projects a great look of period authenticity, despite all over staining and minor bits of surface loss. The lettering is still bold, and the Braves Field ball at center commands attention. Predating the formation of the National League in 1871, the Braves team is the oldest continuously operating professional sports franchise in North America. The Braves have gone through numerous name changes since their inception as the Boston Red Stockings, settling on Braves in 1912. The franchise has called three cities home, with Boston serving as their base from 1871-1952. Braves Field was the team's stadium from 1915, until they moved to Milwaukee in 1953.
